DIWALI 2019 is the famous festival of lights, which millions of people will be celebrating later this month.

It is a festival which originated in India thousands of years ago, with several religions observing the festival – including Sikhs, Hindus and Jains. Diwali usually occurs sometime between October and November, but the date changes every year.

The festival symbolizes the spiritual victory of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and light over darkness. It’s celebrated by decorating the house with bright lights and candles along with exchanging of gifts.

Dubai is home to a large expatriate community, all of whom hail from different nationalities, religions and cultures. People bring forward their traditions and residents get to experience different kinds of festivities which is why there are so many events for Diwali celebration in Dubai 2019.

First up on the line-up of events happening at Al Seef for Diwali 2019, is the traditional Diya lighting ceremony. The lighting of the Diya a k a earthen lamp symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and brings to mind the importance of how light dispels darkness. So make sure to gather all your friends and family along for this ceremonious act, as the sight of all the Diya’s, lighting up the Dubai Creek will definitely be a sight to behold.

Under the theme, ‘Make Your Diwali Brighter Than Ever,’ Dubai Festival City will showcase a first ever Elephant Parade exhibition in the Middle East on October 24, said Steven Cleaver, director, Shopping Centers Dubai, Al Futtaim Malls.

Diwali celebrations cannot be complete without the festive tunes from Bollywood.
